Ben is just like any other normal American boy, if
normal
American boys wore space helmets 24 hours a day and had an actual robot
from space for a playmate, that is! Ben really isn’t into
sports,
fishing, or any childhood activity that’s grounded in
reality.
He’d much rather spend the afternoon pretending to be the
captain
of his makeshift star cruiser, leading his faithful crew on daring
missions to alien worlds. Ben has a vivid, limitless imagination, and
he loves to conjure up wild adventures and grandiose schemes that
always seem to get him and Devin into trouble.
Whenever Ben has a crazy, impossible plan that he
wants to
see soar off into space, Devin is always there to either send it
crashing to Earth, or hang on for the ride. Even though he’s
a
bit more grounded in the real world than Ben is, Devin is still an
expert daydreamer and space cadet. When he’s not serving any
number of roles as a member of “cap’n”
Ben’s
starship crew, Devin enjoys frying ants, stomping through mud puddles,
digging holes, blowing up action figures with firecrackers, and
sniffing magic marker fumes. Perhaps that’s how his hair got
that
way…hmmm….
Diogee is Ben’s faithful, loveable, and
mischievous
canine companion. He’s a loyal mutt that loves his master
almost
as much as he loves digging up bones, leaving his
“mark” on
fire hydrants, and lounging around his beloved backyard. Diogee longs
to do more “normal” dog/master things with Ben like
play
fetch with a ball or perform Frisbee tricks, but more often than not,
he’s stuck co-piloting the ol’ boxcar spaceship.
Not much is known about this strange visitor from
outer
space, other than he is utterly clueless about the way things work on
Planet Earth. Now that he’s stranded in a backyard and in
servitude to two children, he’s reluctantly putting his
amazing
abilities and powerful weapons to use playing games and accompanying
the boys on their make-believe space adventures.
Caveman is a huge, lumbering, neanderthal with a
heart of
gold and the brain capacity of a small woodland creature. He was dug up
and thawed out by Robot after being frozen under Ben's backyard for
thousands of years. Now, instead of running from sabretooth tigers and
hunting wooly mammoths, he spends his days playing in the backyard with
Diogee and the boys, and leanring about strange new things like garden
hoses, appliance box spaceships, pickle jars, and children's toys.
